VonderZenn Beginning

Our introduction to the Rottweiler was by Denis Ryan who owned a local pet shop. Denis put us onto Helen and Chester Read and we collected Hannah our first Rottweiler after returning from our Honeymoon in 1988.

Hannah was all we could have hoped for as a companion and she went on to the obedience ring and gained her CD title and was working towards her CDX when she died of an auto immune disease.

Hannah was a great family dog for the short 3 years she was with us and we were all devastated when she had to be put to sleep.

Hannah achieved the Highest Scoring Novice Dog at the Geelong obedience dog club and her picture is proudly displayed on the club walls. 

Hannah was our four footed baby and when it was time for the two footers to arrive she took this in her stride and welcomed both Kate and Rebekah without any issue.

She was wonderfuk with them both and the smartest Rottweiler we have owned.

Bree was purchased as a bitch on Breeders terms for the Ormslee kennels and had limited success in the show ring.

After two failed frozen AI attempts to American Ch Ironwoods Cade, Bree successfully whelped a litter to Ch Linebdack My Dekota.

Her daughter Chloe (Ormslee Calico Chloe) was the first Rottweiler in Australia to gain her fly ball championship title and went on until 10 years of age competing successfully.

We decided not to breed with Bree ourselves as her hips were borderline and her siblings results were concerning.

Bree gained her CD title at 2 years and had a great spirit and drive to please. Bree was also an excellent companion dog and was a trustworthy friend to our two daughters as they grew.

Bree died at 9 years of age.

Enka is the foundation bitch for VonderZenn kennels, her Sire and Dam were both proven producers of type, quality and soundness.
Enka has also been a carting and breed promotion Rottweiler for the Rottweiler club of Victoria.

Enka has produced three litters, first to BISS BIS Multi V Rated Aust Grand CH Ormslee Zenith (A) ET CGC. This litter produced 2 females and 4 males.

The second litter was to Aust CH Westobri Dufro Naru (A), this was a line breeding on Baron V Smutley which resulted in 4 males and 5 females.

Enka's final litter was to Multi V rated CH Aardhond My Loyal Alibi (A) C.G.C with 7 females and 4 males. The progeny of these litters have been of very nice type and excellent temperament.
Enka has passed on her excellent temperament, head type, color and has been dominant in producing dark eyes, strong bone and angulations.

Enka entered breeding retirement and was a wonderful companion.

Enka passed away in June 2006 at 13 years old.

Thank you to Alan and Yvonne Hill for breeding such a wonderful, “all round” Rottweiler and allowing us to establish our future in this great breed.

Enka was our daughter Rebekah's best friend and they spent  many hours together . Enka slept every night with Bek until she passed on to rainbow bridge. Bek stillwears the key to Enlka's ashs every day on her chain around her neck.
